Danish star wears BIOM EVO RACER en route to podium finish

Coming out of the water in second place, the 30-year-old Dane biked and ran with the leaders for the remainder of the race, ultimately finishing behind Australia’s Mellissa Hauschildt and Yvonne van Vlerken of the Netherlands.

Competing in warm conditions, temperatures reached 35°C, Vesterby benefitted from the ultra-light shoes with superb ventilation.

“This was my first competition since my off-season so I wanted to concentrate on a good effort. Although it was a very hard day today, I am proud of my result and look forward to improving as the season progresses,” says Michelle Vesterby.

This race builds upon a successful 2013 campaign during which Vesterby finished eighth at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii and completed her first sub-nine hour at Ironman Arizona.

“Michelle comes into this season with a great mindset, knowing she can compete among the world’s best athletes. She has excelled training and racing on the advanced BIOM EVO platform and we look forward to seeing her success as the season continues," says Matthias Schwarte, Marketing Manager, ECCO Sport.
